The All New iMac Lands Tomorrow

The new, completely redesigned iMac that Apple unveiled in October will be available for purchase starting tomorrow, Friday, November 30th.

Back in October, on the 23rd to be more precise, Apple unveiled the all new iMac to the world. After touting that the device comes with a brilliant display, faster processors, and stunning design, Apple said the new iMac will be available for purchase in November – but did not specify the exact date. This has changed – Apple just announced that the new iMac will be available for purchase though the Apple Online Store, Apple Retail Stores, and select Apple Authorize Resellers on Friday, November 30.

“With a stunning design, brilliant display and faster performance, we’ve made the world’s leading all-in-one desktop computer better in every way,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “The all-new iMac is unbelievably thin, yet packs an incredible amount of performance and technology into our most innovative desktop.”

  • Aluminum and glass enclosure that;s just 5mm thin at its edge.
  • 21.5-inch display reengineered to reduce reflection by 75%.
  • 8GB, 1600Mhz memory.
  • I5 Intel quad-core processors that can be upgrade to i7.
  • The latest NVIDIA GeForce GT graphics processors.
  • 1TB hard drive.
  • Fusion Drive, a new storage option that combines the capacity of a hard drive and the performance of flash. It combines 128GB of flash with a standard hard drive to create a single storage volume.

Depending on which model you get, you can expect to pay from $1,299 up to $1,999 for a new iMac that has been redesigned from the inside out. Here’s a closer look at the prices (the suggested retail prices):

  • $1,299 – 21.5inch iMac, 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.2 GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M.
  • $1,499 – 21.5inch iMac, 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M.
  • $1,799 – 27-inch iMac, 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M.
  • $1,999 – 27-inch iMac, 3.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX.
