The Shush! Ringer Restorer app for Android can temporarily mute your Android smartphone. For a set amount of time, the ringer will be turned off; when the time runs out, the ringer is restored. This way you can watch a movie, attend a meeting, and do other things undisturbed.

Say you’re going to watch a 2 hours long movie with the missus and you don’t want the phone to ring during that time. Or let’s say you have an important 2 hours long meeting and you don’t want your phone to start ringing while you’re making your pitch.

There is a simple solution for both these situations: mute your Android. You can use the volume buttons to silence your Android, to quickly mute the device. There is a catch though. What if you forget to turn the ringer back on and you miss an important call? You wouldn’t want that to happen, now would you?

This is where the Shush! app comes in. This free Android app makes sure you can watch a movie undisturbed, it makes sure your phone won’t start ringing during an important meeting, and it will make sure you don’t miss important calls because you forgot to un-mute your Android.

What the app does is it temporarily mutes your Android. For 2 hours for example, the ringer will be turned off – when that time runs out, the ringer is restored. Here’s the cool part: Shush! activates when you silence your phone with the volume buttons. When you silence your phone, Shush! shows up and asks for how long you want your phone to stay silent.

Go get the app and use it to mute your Android for specific period of time.
You can get Shush! Ringer Restorer for free from Google’s Play Store.
