Temple Run 2, the sequel to the most exhilarating running game ever is now available for download in the App Store. Get Temple Run 2 for free and enjoy it on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

The Imangi Studios-developed Temple Run game was among the apps that made a big impact last year. As Apple explained when it announced that the App Store topped 40 billion downloads, the game was downloaded more than 75 million times from the App Store in 2012.

“The success of our game Temple Run in 2012 was nothing short of astonishing,” said Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi Studios. “We were simply looking to create a game that was fun and easy to play, but once it hit the App Store, the game took off. This past year, we saw more than 75 million downloads of Temple Run on iOS.”

Now that’s quite a lot of downloads – and keep in mind that downloads of the Android version were not taken into consideration by Apple. If we were to do so, then we’d have to say that Temple Run was downloaded more than 170 million times.

After a successful 2012, the husband and wife team at Imangi Studios started 2013 with the launch of a sequel: Temple Run 2 has been rolled out to the App Store today, the 17th of January 2013. The app is provided for free, it is universal, and it comes with the following features (as pulled from the official description):
  • Beautiful new graphics
  • Gorgeous new organic environments
  • New obstacles
  • More powerups
  • More achievements
  • Special powers for each character
  • Bigger monkey!!!

To recap, the highly anticipated sequel Temple Run 2 is now available for free download in the App Store.
