Symantec Introduces New Cloud-based Service
At the start of the week Symantec, company that specializes in providing antivirus, antispyware, and internet security software solutions, announced the availability of a new cloud-based service meant for enterprises that have manage a large number of certificates used for business authentication and data encryption on servers.
The new service is called Symantec Certificate Intelligence Center (currently in Beta), and according to the developer, it is capable of discovering, centralizing, and providing in-depth insight through advanced reporting. With the aid of Symantec Certificate Intelligence Center, enterprises can proactively manage certificates from any Certificate Authority and have total visibility and controls of their certificates, something that is crucial as far as reducing risk, costs and operational inefficiencies is concerned.
The simple truth of the matter is that when you have a complex enterprise network, getting comprehensive information on all SSL certificates is a complicated matter that’s resource-intensive, time consuming, costs a bit of money. If the SSL certificates are not managed properly, it could lead to service disruptions, increased support costs and lost revenue. The functionality Symantec Certificate Intelligence Center has to offer is meant to address this issue.
“Symantec Certificate Intelligence Center illustrates Symantec’s commitment to helping enterprises get the most out of their SSL Certificate investments,” commented Fran Rosch, Vice President, Trust Services, Symantec Corp. “Over the last year, this service was developed in consultation with more than 25 Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies with the key goal to create a simple and usable solution to centralize certificate data and automate core lifecycle processes. Symantec Certificate Intelligence Center will make certificate management easier than ever—an important advantage as more enterprises adopt cloud-based certificate solutions to power the next generation of security applications.”
