Earlier this week software developer Piriform made a very exciting announcement – exciting for all the Mac users out there who wanted to enjoy CCleaner’s functionality on their machines. Piriform announced that CCleaner for Mac has graduated out of Beta and is now available for download as a final, stable version.

“We're pleased to announce the final release build of CCleaner for Mac! It's now out of beta and you can use the application with bug-free confidence,” announced the Piriform team on Monday, January 30th.

So if the fact that CCleaner for Mac carried the Beta tag prevented you from downloading the application, now is the ideal time to get it and see what it has to offer. If you’re not familiar with the functionality CCleaner has to offer, here is a very quick explanation: CCleaner is short for “crap cleaner”. This application will remove all the useless bits and pieces that are needlessly taking up space on your machine. On top of that it can wipe clean all free disk space.

If you would like to get started with the stable version of CCleaner for Mac, you can grab the application straight from the developer here. Just like the Windows counterpart, it is offered free of charge. You can use CCleaner for Mac on your machine for as long as you want and not part with your hard earned money. Speaking about your machine, it must be mentioned here that version 1.0 of CCleaner for Mac provides support for Leopard (10.5), Snow Leopard (10.6), and Lion (10.7). It must also be mentioned that CCleaner for Mac supports all the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

The bottom line is this: CCleaner for Mac 1.0, the stable version, is now out. You can download it and use it for free on your Leopard, Snow Leopard, or Lion-powered machine.
