The world belongs to the Sorcerer King. This powerful mage conquered the realm and nearly destroyed everything. And now he plans to destroy the Elemental Shards of magic and become a god. You have to build up your forces, go against the Sorcerer King, and free the world. But hurry, because the Doomsday Counter is ticking.

Stardock, the company behind useful applications like LogonStudio, Multiplicity, KeepSafe, WindowFX, DesktopX, IconPackager, Tiles, CursorFX, and many more, recently rolled out a new strategy fantasy game called Sorcerer King. The game asks the question “how do you kill a god?

“You are the leader of the city state of Athica.,” explained Stardock in a press release. “Dark times have fallen on your realm as the powerful mage called the Sorcerer King has already conquered the land. You had established an uneasy peace with him until you learned of his plan to become a god by destroying the Elemental Shards that supply the world with its magic. He must be stopped.”

Sorcerer King – Main Features
  • Build up your kingdom – it’s not easy to build up your kingdom. You have to use heroes and armies to clear out monsters and bandits, you have to build outposts to claim resources, you have to use pioneers to expand your kingdom.
  • Explore the land – hundreds or quests are available. Explore the land to uncover them, complete them to get crafting components, get lore for researching new spells/units/artifacts, and even alter the Doomsday Counter.
  • Sorcerer King and Doomsday Counter – you have to build up your forces so you can take on the powerful Sorcerer King. But be quick about it, because the Doomsday Counter is ticking.
  • Unique sovereigns – six unique sovereigns are available in the game. They come with their own skill trees, spell books and units.
  • Rivals – you’ll come across rivals and you’ll have to make a choice: defeat them and steal their land and loot, or make them into allies and get unique champions to fight for your cause.

“With Sorcerer King we wanted to do a different take on fantasy strategy and move away from some of the genre’s familiar tropes,” said lead designer and Stardock CEO Brad Wardell. “Instead of pitting players against other factions with the same objective of conquering the game’s world for themselves, we’re challenging players to struggle against the Doomsday counter as they rise from the ashes of defeat to stop the demigod from casting a spell that will transform him into a god.”

Additional information on Sorcerer King is available on its official website.
