From a security and functionality point of view it is important to keep your applications updated. When an application is updated, the developer may address some security problems that have come to light, or he may add some new bits of functionality to the application, or sometimes he may do both.

The thing is that staying on top of software updates can sometimes be a bit of a pain, especially if you have a lot of applications installed on your Windows-powered machine. There is an application out there that can ease your pain – the Glarysoft-developed and appropriately named Software Update.

There are three things I liked about this app:
Functionality – the application will check to see what applications are installed on your system and will tell you if there are any updates available for them. This way I can rest assured that I’m always running the latest versions.
Ease of use – using the application is a very straightforward thing. You will not run into any significant problems getting accustomed to the application.
Free – the application is offered free of charge. This means you get to enjoy the functionality it has to offer and keep your money in your pocket. I always love it when I can get much needed functionality and not part with my hard earned money.

“You may not always pay attention to updating software installed on your computer. Or you may think software update is not necessary as you only use certain functions and don't care to update at all. Actually, software updates often provide patches, which fixed software incompatible bugs and improved software performance to make your software more secure and reduce conflict. Software Update alerts you and provides you with software up-to-date information immediately if there is one available,” said Glarysoft in Software Update’s description.
