Back in February we were announcing that if you want to get a job with one of the biggest names in the software industry, this year Skype is hiring. Skype's growing and ramping its innovation of new products across different platforms for consumers and businesses, so its adding more people to its global team. In 2011 Skype will open up 350 jobs.

“Skype is the place to work in Silicon Valley”, said back in February Jennifer Caukin, Director of PR for the Americas, responsible for Skype's media relations and communication activity in the region. “So if you want to work on the next great Skype idea and have the opportunity to be at a company that is transforming communications and bringing people closer together all over the world, check out our job opportunities, and get in touch,” added Caukin.

And now we continue the “Skype’s hiring” story with news that Skype really wants you to know it’s hiring. Ben White, contributing blogger with Skype, announced yesterday that a new Skype billboard has gone up in Palo Alto. The billboard is at the Embarcadero Exit, Northbound on 101. You can check the billboard out at the bottom of this article.

In his post Ben said he doesn’t want to talk about how great it is to work for a company like Skype. He only asked that you share what your true calling is.

“We've had a lot of fun talking about what we wanted to be when we grew up, only to realize our "true calling" was in fact something very different. You'd be surprised at how many people wanted to be astronauts but ended up working in marketing with a side of volunteer work. With that conversation fresh in our minds, we'd like to hear from you,” said White. You can leave your comments in the comments section of his blog post, you can tweet your comment @skypedeveloper, #truecalling. White said the tweet with the most likes or retweets get $5 free credit.

The bottom line is that if you want to work for Skype, visit the skypecareers.com site or the jobs.skype.com site and see if there’s something for you.
