BitTorrent, the company behind the BitTorrent protocol and the BitTorrent and uTorrent applications, is working on a new product and it is asking you to sign up and test it.

BitTorrent Sync is the name of a new product that was introduced by the BitTorrent Team earlier this week. As the name so adequately suggests, this is tool that will keep your data in sync. What it does is it automatically syncs files between computers via secure, distributed technology. The BitTorrent Team hopes that by using its new distributed syncing product you will be able to efficiently and conveniently manage personal files between multiple computers.

At this time, work on BitTorrent Sync is still in its early stages – the pre-Alpha stage to be more precise. To help with the development process, BitTorrent is calling on the community to sign up and test the new product.

“Today, BitTorrent Sync is in a pre-Alpha stage. And we’re hoping that users like you can help us build something sick. If you’re comfortable using early, incomplete software, and if you’re committed to helping us figure out a better way to sync, we want to hear from you,” said the BitTorrent Team.

An enrollment into the pre-Alpha BitTorrent Sync program has been opened – check it out here. A limited number of computer users will get the chance to test the new product. If this sounds like fun to you, click the link and go fill out an application test BitTorrent Sync.

In related news, earlier this month BitTorrent announced the release of BitTorrent Surf, a new Google Chrome extension that lets you discover and download torrents directly in your browser. Just like the abovementioned BitTorrent Sync, BitTorrent Surf is in its early stages – just that it is a bit further along than Sync. Learn more about BitTorrent Surf here.
