Secunia PSI: Make Sure You Have the Latest Updates

Secunia PSI (Personal Software Inspector) scans your PC and identifies outdated software and missing Windows security updates. If updates are available, it can download and install them – but it all depends on the update method you pick.

You see, Secunia PSI lets you pick one of three update methods. They’re similar to the Windows Update update methods:
1. Update programs automatically.
2. Download updates automatically, but let me choose whether to update.
3. Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and update.

I went home for Christmas and, as expected, I had to fix a few problems with my dad’s PC. It was nothing complicated, just a bit of maintenance work: the trash had to be removed, several applications had to be updated. Normally, I get pretty annoyed when I have to do this. Removing the trash is a simple enough task, but updating multiple applications can be time consuming.

But this time, I could socialize with my relatives and update my dad’s applications at the same time. I could do that because I turned to a very useful tool for help: Secunia PSI (Personal Software Inspector).

Installing it on my dad’s PC took but a moment. Then I let the application scan the PC, identify outdated software, and apply all available updates. While the application did its job, I dined, had some drinks, and socialized with my parents, my brother, and all my other relatives. I didn’t have to put in too much effort and my dad was immensely pleased that everything on his PC was running smoothly. Things couldn’t have gone better.

The bottom line is this: using outdated software is never advisable. If you need a simple yet incredibly efficient means of updating all your applications, you’re well advised to get Secunia PSI. You can get it straight from FindMySoft here.
