Facebook recently announced that it updated its social search engine Graph Search so that it covers posts and status updates.

Here’s an example: you can ask Graph Search to find “posts written at The White House.”

On Monday, the 30th of September, the Facebook development team announced that Graph Search has more search functionality to offer:

“Starting today, Graph Search will include posts and status updates. Now you will be able to search for status updates, photo captions, check-ins and comments to find things shared with you. This is rolling out slowly to a small group of people who currently have Graph Search and we will continue to improve this experience by listening to feedback.”

As mentioned above, you can use Graph Search to look for “posts written at The White House.” If you are a fan of Dancing with the Stars, you can use Graph Search to find out what your friends posted about it.

Or if you want to take a trip down memory lane, you can ask Graph Search to show “my posts from last year.”

Introduced at the start of the year, Graph Search is a social search engine that delivers personalized results based on the content shared with you on Facebook. For example, you can search for music your friends like, search for photos of your friends, search for friends who share your interests, search for photos taken in certain location, and more. To sum it up, you can look up anything that was shared with you on Facebook or that is publicly posted on Facebook.

Say you’re into kiteboarding and you want to see which of your friends also like the sport. Enter the query “people who like kiteboarding” and you will get an answer. And now that Graph Search provides support for posts, you can also find out which of your friends posted about kiteboarding.
