With Mother’s Day just around the corner (it’s on the 13th of May, just in case you forgot) Skype announced that it gave its 'Say it with Skype' Facebook app a motherly-themed makeover. And more to the point, Skype announced that you can now use Say it with Skype to send a “Mom, you rock” video card to your mother.

So forget about a boring old card and do something special for your mother on Monday, May 13th. Use Say it With Skype to send your mom a customized, rocking out, wonderful video card.

Here is what you have to do to tell mom that she rocks:
  • Access the Say it with Skype app on Facebook by clicking here.
  • Click on Say 'Mom, you rock'.
  • Select your mom from your list of friends.
  • Select one of the three bands, preview their message.
  • Edit the note and rock out with the band if you want to (rocking out means you will record a personalized message).
  • Schedule it so your video card is sent out to your mom on May the 13th.

“On May 13th, how will you be honoring your mom?” asked Global Senior Marketing Manager at Skype, Leanne Johnson. “Don't just send her a boring card” she advised. “Let mom see your smiling face and hear your voice! When you send your mom a 'Say it with Skype, Mom you rock' video card you created yourself, it's almost like you are there in person.”

Here is another reason why you would want to send a video card to your mom using Say it with Skype – to help out kids in need. One dollar will be donated by Skype to the Save the Children’s Global Action Fund in support of Mom’s the Word campaign for every video card sent out between April 29 and May 14h, 2012.
