Samsung to iPhone Users: Don't Be a Wall Hugger, Switch to the Galaxy S5

Samsung is once again making fun of Apple and the iPhone. You see, the company recently rolled out a new video called “Wall Huggers.” The video makes fun of the fact that iPhone battery life is dreadful and consequently iPhone users spend a lot of time clustered around power outlets, waiting for their mobiles to charge.

At one time the voiceover says the following:
Tethered to the wall, denied the freedom to enjoy even the most basic things, like grabbing a drink, or sharing a laugh with your coworkers, or sitting with someone you know. You’re stuck here, until your battery says so. Don’t be a wall hugger!

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 comes with a 2800mAh battery that offers 390 hours of standby time and 21 hours of talk time. The Galaxy S5 also comes with a new Ultra Power Saving Mode that shuts down unnecessary apps to drastically minimize battery use. And last but not least, the Galaxy S5 lets you take out teh back cover and access the battery.

What does it all mean? It means that the powerful battery will last a long time, it means that when you’re about to run out of power you can keep going by enabling Ultra Power Saving Mode, and it means that you can switch out your drained battery with a fresh one.

Apple’s latest iPhone, the 5S, comes with a less powerful 1560 mAh battery that cannot be removed. When you’re low on power you cannot switch out the battery and you cannot turn on Ultra Power Saving mode. Consequently, you have to find a power outlet, charge your phone, and become a “wall hugger”.

That is the premise of Samsung’s latest video “Galaxy S5 – Wall Huggers”. The video makes fun of the fact that iPhone users are forced to spend a lot of time waiting for their smartphones to charge.

I started this article by saying that “Samsung is once again making fun of Apple and the iPhone.” Remember the video Samsung rolled out when the Galaxy S2 was all the rage?

In related news, I have to remind you that Samsung just recently unveiled the new Galaxy S5 Mini.
