About three weeks from now, on the 29th of August to be more precise, a Samsung Mobile Unpacked event will be held at the IFA show in Berlin, Germany. These types of events are held by Samsung when the company has something important to announce. One such event was held when Samsung presented the Galaxy Nexus and then again when it presented the new Galaxy S3 smartphone.

So what does Samsung plan to unveil this time? According to Reuters, who spoke with a Samsung representative (an unnamed Samsung spokesperson), the company plans to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin later this month.

With a 5.3 inch display, the Galaxy Note is already a pretty large device. Samsung did not say how big the next Note will be nor did it shed any light on the device’s specs. According to rumors on the web though, it will be even larger – the next Galaxy Note will have a 5.5 display. Also according to rumors on the web, the device will come with a better camera and a faster processor – a 12-megapixel camera and a 1.7Ghz dual-core processor.

It is interesting to note that Samsung chose to hold the Mobile Unpacked event two weeks before the date when Apple is speculated to present its next generation iPhone. On August 29th Samsung will hold and event to unveil the next Galaxy Note and two weeks later, on September 12, Apple is reportedly going to hold an event to present the next iPhone.

So to recap, Samsung confirmed that it will hold a Mobile Unpacked event in Germany on August 29th. Reuters spoke to a Samsung representative, and apparently Samsung will unveil the next Galaxy Note at the aforementioned event. Two weeks later, Apple will unveil its new iPhone.
