Recharge your portable devices and help “recharge” the lives of endangered species by getting a Samsung Animal Edition Battery Pack.

“As consumers spend more time on their devices, they are demanding batteries with more capacity,” said Byeongju Kim, Vice President and Applicative Product Biz Group Leader, Samsung Electronics. “Our new battery packs will meet the needs of our customers and will simultaneously raise awareness about a critical issue.”

Samsung’s “Charge the Life” campaign aims to raise awareness about endangered animals. As part of this campaign, the company released the Samsung Animal Edition Battery Packs. They have a clear power level display and they can be used to charge two mobile devices at the same time.

There are 4 models to choose from, each featuring the cute image of an endangered species: the giant panda, the lesser pands, the fennec fox, and the golden monkey (the order is the same as the image below).

These 4 models are divided into two sizes: 8,400mAh and 11,300mAh.

The smaller 8,400mAh battery packs feature the lesser panda and the fennec fox. If you think that 8,400mAH isn’t very much, then you need to know that it is more than three times the capacity of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 battery. I remind you that the Galaxy S6 features a 2,550mAh battery.

The larger 11,300mAh battery packs feature the giant panda and the golden monkey. 11,300mAh is more than four times the capacity of a Galaxy S6 battery. If you have a Galaxy Note 4 and the batter is flat, this battery pack can completely charge it twice.

Samsung’s Animal Edition Battery Packs are accompanied by a “Charge the Life” Android app that is available for free on Google Play and on Samsung Galaxy Apps.

The app lets you interact with one of the four endangered species that are featured on the battery packs. If you select the fennec fox for example, it will react to your touch by moving about and making cute sounds. As your device’s battery charges up, the fennec fox will get more cheerful.
