Samsung's ArtPC Pulse Is a Stunning and Powerful Desktop PC You'll Want to Show Off

When I hear the words "desktop PC" I immediately think about a square box that people hide underneath their desks. The simple truth of the matter is that most desktop PCs (and I’m not counting gaming PCs here) are utilitarian. They’re meant to get the job done, not stun you with their looks.

Samsung’s brand new ArtPC Pulse isn’t like that. This thing gets the job done and it looks amazing. It’s a desktop PC that blends together powerful hardware and striking looks. You’re not going to want to shove it underneath a desk. You’re going to want to show it off.

Samsung ArtPC Pulse has a circular, full metal design. The full metal cylindrical body is 5.5 inches wide and around a foot tall.

An ambient pulse lighting band is embedded within the circular design. It’s not there just to look good, it’s functional as well. You can, for example, set it to blink yellow when you receive a new email, green when you receive a new chat message, and blue when there’s a social media notification to check out.

Underneath the strikingly beautiful exterior, the ArtPC Pulse packs some serious hardware: a 6th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, AMD Radeon RX460 GPU, 8Gb or 16GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, and an easy-to-add 1TB HDD module. It can handle demanding multimedia like 3D games or 4K movies and, thanks to the 360° Harman/Kardon speaker, it delivers high-end, rich sound quality.

The ArtPC Pulse ships with a wireless keyboard and mouse for convenient use right out of the box. If you want to connect other devices to it, then you need to know that you have four USB 3.0 ports, an USB Type-C port, and a HDMI port.

All this talk about the circular ArtPC Pulse reminds me about another product that Samsung recently unveiled: the CFG70 quantum dot curved monitor. Designed specifically for professional gamers, it offers enhanced picture quality and includes player-friendly features for a truly immersive gaming experience.

Samsung's CFG720 curved monitor is the industry’s first curved gaming monitor to feature quantum dot technology.

"With the introduction of quantum dot technology to our pioneering curved monitors, Samsung offers a look into the future of gaming, along with a level of picture quality like the industry has never seen before," said Seog-gi Kim, Senior Vice President, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. "The CFG70 makes gamers feel as if they are part of the action, and represents Samsung’s most powerful and visually-compelling curved monitor to date."
