Samsung recently unveiled a new smart wearable device: the Gear S. Presented as “the next generation smart wearable device”, the Gear S features a beautiful curved design, is dust and water resistant, and comes with 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes with a built-in GPS, turn-by-turn pedestrian navigation, and the ability to see and respond to important social notifications instantly with Facebook.

“Samsung is leading this exciting and rapidly developing wearable category through progressive innovation,” said JK Shin, CEO and head of IT & mobile communication at Samsung Electronics. “The Samsung Gear S redefines the idea of the smart wearable and the culture of mobile communication. It will let consumers live a truly connected life anywhere, anytime.”

  • Body – curved design, flexible band, dust and water resistant.
  • Display & dimensions – 2-inch curved Super AMOLED (360 x 480) display; 39.8 x 58.3 x 12.5T.

  • Memory & storage – 512MB of RAM; 4GB internal memory.

Swarovski will design an exclusive strap for the Galaxy Gear S: the Gear S Strap.

The Swarovski Gear S Strap will be available on the Samsung online store and at experience stores starting in October.



Alongside the Gear S, Samsung presented the Gear Circle – headphones that have a vibrate function to signal incoming calls and notifications, headphones that feature a magnetic lock which clasps around the user’s neck when not in use.



Samsung Gear Circle can be used to receive calls, listen to music, and make voice commands.

The Gear Circle will be available in global markets in phases through Samsung’s retail channels, e-commerce websites and via carriers beginning October.
