Update, September 6: Samsung rolled out a hands-on video that presents the key features of the Note 3 and the Gear.

Samsung unveiled a cool new device alongside the new Galaxy Note 3: the Galaxy Gear. This companion for the Note 3 is a wearable device that combines smart device connectivity, tailored technological features, and stylish design.

  • 4GB internal memory and 512 MB RAM memory
  • 1.9MP camera
  • Bluetooth and BLE connectivity

  • 315mAh Li-ion battery.
  • 2 microphones and 1 speaker.

Samsung Galaxy Gear – Main Software Offering
  • Voice commands so you can make calls, set alarms, check the weather, or create new calendar entries without having to touch the device.
  • Memographer feature lets you take picks, record video, create visual records, and share them with others.
  • Voice Memo will record audio and save the recordings as texts on a Galaxy device.
  • Auto Lock – the device is automatically locked when it is more than 1.5 meters away from your smartphone.
  • Find My Device – helps you locate misplaced devices.
  • Built-in pedometer to track your physical activity.
  • Glympse - temporarily share your location, let others see your movements in real-time.
  • Line - global messaging service.
  • Pocket - text-to-speech article playback.
