An announcement covered in mystery comes from Rovio Entertainment. The company announced that it is working on a new action-packed title called Angry Birds Go.

Rovio Entertainment is teasing us with an interesting announcement. The company announced on Wednesday that it is working on a new, action-packed game that will feature all your favorite characters from the Angry Birds games. The only thing we now is that the new title will be called Angry Birds Go. What it will be like and other similar details have not been made available to the public.

“Those birds and piggies are getting ready for their most thrilling and action-packed game yet! All your favorite characters are returning for a brand new title that will bring you closer to Piggy Island than ever before. It’s Angry Birds, but not as you know it!” announced Rovio Entertainment via its blog.

The announcement was accompanied by a link to go.angrybirds.com, a teaser website that provides a “sneak peak of what’s coming” as Rovio put it.

That’s all that Rovio Entertainment shared so far. The company invited fans to follow Angry Birds on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ to get more updates on the upcoming new game.

All this talk about new games reminds me about Rovio Stars, the new mobile game publishing initiative announced by Rovio Entertainment last month. Games developed by talented developers will be published by Rovio as part of Rovio Stars, the company’s first foray into including third party titles in its game line-up.

“Rovio Entertainment has positioned itself as one of the powerhouses of mobile entertainment, so moving into publishing is a logical step for us at this point”, said Rovio’s EVP of Games Jami Laes. “We want to help our fans find quality entertainment among the more than 100,000 games available in app stores. That’s where Rovio Stars comes in.”
