Rio Movie Coming Tomorrow, Rovio Released some Nice Wallpapers

The Rio movie is scheduled to be released on the 15th of April in the US. With that occasion, I thought it a good idea to remind you that if you are on Windows 7, you can get the Rio movie theme from the Personalization Gallery. It is a collection of 6 images featuring the characters in the animation movie (check out a preview at the bottom of this article).

If it’s wallpapers you’re looking for, then you need to turn your attention away from Microsoft and focus on Rovio Mobile, the developer of the Angry Birds Rio game (the ad-supported version of the game is available on the Android Market). Earlier this month the company announced that until the premiere of the Rio movie it will release a wallpaper every day.

So far, 7 wallpapers have already been released – you can check them out here. The wallpapers are available for the following display resolutions:

- 480x320
- 960x640
- 1024x768
- 1920x1200

Rovio said you should feel free to get the wallpapers and use the on your PC, Mac, iPad or iPhone.

If you haven’t seen the Rio trailer already, you can watch it now on YouTube by clicking here.

And if you don’t know what the movie is about, let me put things in perspective. In the movie we are presented with Blu, a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, and Linda, Blu’s owner and best friend. The two think Blu is the last of his kind, but then they find out otherwise; they find out that there’s another Macaw in Rio de Janeiro called Jewel and so they go to Rio. Some bungling animal smugglers then kidnap Blu and Jewel. After Blu and Jewel escape their kidnappers, thanks to Jewel’s street smarts and a group of wise-cracking and smooth-talking city birds, Blu has to find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the kidnappers who are hot on their trail, and return to Linda.

So let’s recap:
  • Windows 7 Rio theme available here (preview at the bottom).
