Reply by Mail to Facebook Comments
When one of your friend’s posts a comment on Facebook (comment on content such as status updates, photos, videos and Wall posts), you receive an email informing you about it. If you are a big Facebook user, chances are you will receive a handful of notification emails each and every day. Now I will admit that getting these emails is convenient – after all, you do want to stay in touch with your friends even when you're not on Facebook, don’t you?
What doesn’t fall in the convenience category is the fact that you have to access you inbox to read the notification, then access your Facebook account to reply to said comment. It would be a lot easier on us Facebook users if we could reply from within the notification email. Popular social networking site Facebook seems to be on the same page with this one. So it added the option to reply to the comments from the notifications you receive in your inbox.
Engineer on Facebook's News Feed team, Tom Whitnah, explains: “We're launching the ability for you to participate in these conversations by replying directly to these email notifications. When you receive an email notification about comments, you can just click "Reply" and start typing a comment at the top of the email. Then hit "Send" from your email and your reply will automatically be added as a comment on Facebook without you having to even log in.”
You are not currently receiving email notifications when one of your friends posts a comment on Facebook? Well, there is a simple fix for that. All you have to do is go to your Account Settings page – click here. On the Account Settings page, from the Notifications tab, select the option to receive email notifications when people comment on posts, content, photos, videos, Wall posts and so on.
