With more than 200,000 downloads and more than 45,000 daily users, Racing Post’s iPhone app is the most popular horseracing app on Apple’s App Store. The fact that new functionality has been added to the recently released 5.0 version, making the app a whole lot better, can only affect its popularity in a positive way.

“We've seen over 200,000 downloads of our free app since we launched and the feedback has been excellent,” said Mark Renshaw, Head of Online for Racing Post. “When we surveyed our iPhone app users earlier this year, betting through the app was requested and we soon undertook a process to find a suitable betting partner. Over the last few months we've worked hard with William Hill to develop, test and refine the process and it has impressed everyone who's seen it. It's truly revolutionary.”

The Racing Post app now lets users seamlessly place bets directly from William Hill, Britain’s biggest bookmaker – that’s the new functionality v. 5.0 brings to the table. This means the app has now become a complete horseracing solution. You can use it to get the latest racing news and results, info on runners and riders, tips and videos directly on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. And now you can use that information to make an informed decision about which horse to back in a race.

Placing a bet with the Racing Post app is a fairly straightforward process. All you have to do is tap the William Hill Sportsbook & Racebook odds on the racecard. After you do that you can follow the race with the Live Reporter function.

“Use the app just once and you'll find it's perfect for the day's racing, whether you're on the move, at the course or even just sitting at home. It's probably not waterproof, but that's about all there is wrong with it,” commented Racing Post internet editor Robin Gibson.

“There's nothing else like it. It really means that the concept of mobile betting has reached a new level,” said Jamie Hart from William Hill Online. “We're really excited to be working with the Racing Post on this project, and believe it will be a huge hit with punters and iPhone users.”

The Racing Post App is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on iOS 3.0 or later. The app is offered free of charge. You must be at least 17 years old to download it. You can get the app from Apple’s App Store – click this link.
