QuietTube: YouTube with No Clutter
The Google owned popular video sharing site YouTube, the one that was blocked by China, is a great source of video content, but the way it is displayed is not exactly easy on the eye. The screen is now wider, which is good, but the clutter of ads an user comments can prove to be distracting, which is bad. If you want to do away with the clutter and have your browser display only the essential bits (the video itself), then you need QuietTube.
What you will end up with is a simple window that displays nothing more than the YouTube video itself – just check out the picture at the bottom. And to get this clutter free space you do not need to download, install, or purchase any software. QuietTube is an online service, so it does away with all that.
Using QuietTube is a rather straightforward process, involving these simple steps:
1. Visit the QuietTube web page here.
2. Bookmark the QuietTube button. You can do so with a simple drag and drop onto the Bookmarks Toolbar.
3. Whenever you want to view a clutter-free video in YouTube, simply click the QuietTube bookmark. You will be directed from the regular YouTube page which has ads and comments that take forever to load to a QuietTube page that only displays the video of your choice.
If that explanation was not clear enough for you, just click the “Here’s click tutorial” link displayed in the QuietTube home page and you will be presented a video explanation on how to use the service.
