BitDefender recently rolled out an app that will protect your Android device: BitDefender Antivirus Free. The ad for the recently released app was designed by the guys behind the Fredo & Pid'Jin webcomic, mainly Eugen Erhan and Tudor Muscalu.

There is an unprecedented growth in malware that targets Android-powered devices. Since smartphones are vulnerable, can get infected, and since they store all your important data, it makes sense to protect them. Security company BitDefender recently rolled out a free app that will do just that, protect your Android device from a variety of security threats. Say hello to BitDefender Antivirus Free, the app that brings Bitdefender’s award-winning antivirus protection to your mobile.

"We've seen an uncontrolled explosion in Android malware in the last year, so we’ve created a solution to counter that trend," said Bitdefender Chief Security Researcher Catalin Cosoi. "We would like to see it as widely employed as possible, so we made it easy to use, light on the battery and lethal to Android malware."

BitDefender Antivirus Free – Main Features
  • Uses in-the-cloud scanning technology to offer powerful protection against viruses.
  • Autopilot automatically scans new apps for viruses.
  • Does not slow down your device and does not eat up a lot of battery.
  • Protects against a variety of Android threats right out of the box.

You can get Bitdefender Antivirus Free from the Play Store here.

BitDefender, provider of top quality security solutions for PCs and mobile devices, is proud to sponsor Fredo & Pid'Jin, a quite funny webcomic created by Eugen Erhan and Tudor Muscalu. The security company commissioned the two to come up with an ad for the new BitDefender Antivirus Free and this is what they came up with.

Bitdefender Antivirus Free is just one product the company has to offer.
