ProgDVB Puts Free Satellite TV on Your PC

If you are fed up with your traditional TV set and would like to take things one step further, you could always watch TV directly onto your PC. But what if programs like ChrisTV Online 3.10 do not do it for you since all you want to do is watch satellite TV for free? In that case you could try ProgDVB 6.03.01. With ProgDVB you get access to hundreds of satellite TV channels, access to numerous radio stations, and the capability to record videos in high quality format.

The developer description of this software program goes like this: “ProgDVB is a piece of software which allows you to watch SAT-Television and listen to Radio channels directly from satellite by using DVB-PCI cards with hardware decoders on the board, SAT-dish, and personal x86-compatible computers. ProgDVB has options for working with network broadcasting and Audio/Video recording of the stream to different digital-media formats.”

Here is a quick list of tasks you can perform with ProgDVB 6.03.01:
- Watch satellite TV.
- Listen to radio stations.
- Record video and audio files.
- Playback a locally stored file (a movie you have on your HDD).
- Picture-in-picture.
- Time shifting.
- Electronic program guide (or EPG for short) and teletext.
- Broadcast TV and radio over a local network.
- OSD and GUI skins.

ProgDVB 6.03.01 provides adequate support for the following data sources: internet TV/radio, DVB-S (satellite), DVB-S2, DVB-C (cable), DVB-T, ATSC, IPTV, and Analog TV.

Using ProgDVB is a pretty straightforward process. All you have to do is download the software (download link provided at the bottom), install it on your machine, and then select the TV channel you would like to watch. On the left hand side of the ProgDVB window you will notice a list of countries – just click on a country and you will be shown a list of available TV channels from said country; select the one you would like to watch.
