The Linux Foundation, with the aim of building a collective knowledge base for the Linux operating system, is hosting a yearlong campaign entitled 100 Linux Video Tutorials.

The simple truth of the matter is that demand to learn Linux is growing and growing. Aware of this fact, a yearlong campaign has been launched by The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux. The name of this campaign is 100 Linux Video Tutorials, it is hosted on Linux.com, and its aim is to build a collective knowledge base for the operating system. By creating this knowledge base The Linux Foundation wants to remove barriers to learning Linux and wants to make expert advice available at an international level.

As part of the campaign, members of the Linux community are called upon to share video tutorials on the Linux.com video forum and thus help increase access to Linux knowledge. Linux fans will be able to view these videos and thus they will have access to expert advice no matter where in the world they are. The Linux Foundation will go over all submitted videos and will promote the best ones. When the 100 video tutorials target will be reached, the Foundation plans of hosting a celebration – details on it have not been revealed just yet.

“We invite you to share your knowledge with users and developers new to Linux. You can help remove barriers to learning Linux and transfer expertise around the globe. This contribution to Linux is a very important one. We know that together we can achieve our goal of collecting 100 Linux tutorials this year and making learning Linux as easy as clicking the mouse. We've already had contributions from Linux kernel developer Greg Kroah-Hartman and other members of the community,” commented Director of Communications & Community at The Linux Foundation, Jennifer Cloer.
