On December 24th when Santa sets off to deliver gifts to children from all over the world, follow him via the Google Santa Tracker app for Android – or the website, or the Chrome extension, or the Google Earth app.

Since 2004, as I am sure you already know, Santa’s journey across the world could be tracked with Google Earth. This year, Google’s team of developers built a new route algorithm to chart Santa’s journey and rolled out the new Google Santa Tracker.

Google Santa Tracker is available in several flavors. It is available as a website which, at the time of writing this, displays a countdown to Santa’s departure – Santa will be on his way at 2:00 a.m. PST Christmas Eve. Google Santa Tracker is also available as a free app for Android-powered devices and as an extension for Google’s Chrome web browser.

  • Visit the Google Santa Tracker website here.
  • Get the free Google Santa Tracker app for Android from the Play Store here.
  • Get the Google Santa Tracker extension for Chrome from the Chrome Web Store here.
  • Follow Santa’s journey in 3D by getting the Google Earth app.
  • Get the latest updates about Santa’s trip by following Google Maps on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

In further news, you may want to know that Santa can make a personal phone call to North American phone numbers, between 8AM and 9PM. So if you want to surprise your child with a call from Santa, you can easily do this from the aforementioned Santa Tracker web site – the Call Center section. All you’ll have to do is provide answers to a few questions – Google Voice will take care of the rest. To better put things in perspective, here’s a sample message.

To sum it up, Google released the Santa Tracker website, app, and Chrome extension. Visit the website and you will get to explore Santa’s village, track Santa’s journey across the world, and set it up so Santa will make a personalized call to the number of your choosing.
