Cupertino-based software developer Apple announced that as of today, the 3rd of February, Verizon Wireless customers can pre-order and iPhone 4 via the Apple Store at apple.com and via the Verizon Wireless site at verizonwireless.com/iphone. If you want to pre-order an iPhone 4, hurry up and do so. Apple and Verizon expect high demand so customers’ orders will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis.

As you may remember, back in January Apple announced that come February, AT&T will no longer be the only carrier in the US to offer its iPhone 4. On the 10th of February the iPhone 4 will be offered by Verizon Wireless as well.

Qualified customers will be able to order an iPhone 4 on Verizon via the Apple Store beginning on Wednesday, the 9th of February. They will be able to order it for delivery or reserve for in-store pick up beginning February 10. On the 10th of February, at 7AM local time, the iPhone 4 on Verizon will be available to all qualified customers at Apple’s retail stores and at more than 2,000 Verizon Wireless Communication Stores.

Apple said that during its Q1 2011, the quarter that ended on the 25th of December 2010, it sold 16.24 million iPhones – it also reported record revenue growth. It will be interesting to see how many sold iPhones Apple will report for Q2 now that the iPhone 4 will go on sale on Verizon Wireless.

The iPhone 4 on Verizon will come with Personal Hotspot capabilities, meaning the iPhone 4 on Verizon will be able to act as a hotspot for up to five gadgets.

“We are pleased to introduce millions of wireless users to the industry leading iPhone 4 on the nation’s most reliable network,” said Lowell McAdam, president and chief operating officer of Verizon. “This is an important step for the industry as two great companies join forces to give wireless customers one of the most important technological additions to the mobile landscape this century.”
