If you are a fan of the Plants vs. Zombies game but you did not buy it until now because the price did not agree with you, I have some great news for you. PopCap is running a special Holiday Sale through November 29 – as part of this sale, all of its PC and Mac games are offered at half the price. This means you can get Plants vs. Zombies for $9.95 instead of $19.95.

Out of all the various PC games one could play, the one that strikes a cord with me is the PopCap Games-developed Plants vs. Zombies. It is a fun, simple and addictive tower defense game. The goal in the game is pretty simple: you plant all sorts of plants on your lawn and the plants will protect your house from incoming waves of zombies.

You will have to think ahead and anticipate what types of zombies will attack you and plant accordingly. There are different types of plants and different types of zombies with different attributes. You must come up with a strategy based on the types of zombies that will attack you.

The Plants vs. Zombies game got great reviews from the media. Eurogamer gave it an A-, GamePro gave it 4.5 stars, GameSpot gave it 8.5 out of 10 points, and PC Games UK gave it a 90% rating. Back in 2009 Gamezebo picked it as on of the “Best Games of 2009.”

The game can be played on Apple’s Mac OS X operating system (Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard) and it can be played on Microsoft’s Windows operating system as well (XP, Vista, and Windows 7). On top of that there’s a Plants vs. Zombies iPhone app , which means that you can have a quick game break even if you are constantly on the go and can’t play the game on your desktop.

The iPhone app retails for $2.99, but from time to time it is offered at a special discount price. This Halloween for example the Plants vs. Zombies app sold for a mere $0.99. That’s 50 campaign levels, quick play mode, 26 zombie types, 49 plants and power-ups, 25 iPhone-exclusive achievements, and multitasking support for less than a dollar.
