Enjoy the nostalgia of Polaroid photos on your Android-powered mobile by using Polaroid’s own Polamatic app, the app that used to be an iOS-exclusive until this month.

For about a year now only iOS users could access the functionality provided by Polaroid’s Polamatic app. As of July 2013, this is no longer the case. On the first of the month, Polamatic version 1.0 landed in the Play Store. The app is no longer an iOS-exclusive – it can also be used on Android powered devices (for the low price of $1.99).

If you are not familiar with the Polamatic app, let me quickly put things in perspective. Remember those old Polaroid pictures? Well, with this app you can convert your digital photos into something that reminds you of the old Polaroids you used to take. Here’s a list of Polamatic’s main features to better put things in perspective.

Polamatic Main Features
  • Import or Capture - load a photo stored on your device or snap a pic and use it.
  • Edit – you can edit the photo by adding frames, applying filters, and typing a caption. There are 30 frames. 20 filters, and 24 fonts to choose from.. The frames are high quality scans of new, used, and vintage Polaroid picture frames.
  • Save & Share – when you’re done editing a pic, you can save it to your device or you can share it with others. You can share your nostalgic pic via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, or email.
Polamatic, with its editing features and ease of use will help you give your photos the retro feel you’re going for.
