Here are two great news from Piriform, privately owned UK software developer dedicated to creating top quality applications for Windows, and both of them are related to the company’s CCleaner application. The first news is that CCleaner has been updated to version 3.11 and that this version ads initial support for Windows 8.

As a little side note, it must be said here that Piriform is not the only software developer out there to add support for the upcoming Windows 8 operating system. Skype added support for Windows 8 as well.

CCleaner version 3.11 comes with a few other enhancements. Here’s the complete list of changes Piriform provided:
- Added initial support for Windows 8.
- Added expanded Recycle Bin contents in detailed view.
- Improved Thunderbird cache cleaning support.
- Improved Safari history cleaning.
- Improved "Unused File Extensions" registry rule improvements.
- Improved Secure file deletion on FAT32 file system.
- Improved Drive Wiper tool to prevent UI freezing.
- Improved cleaning for Windows Log Files, Memory Dumps, Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010.
- Improved Speedbit Download Accelerator Plus cleaning.
- Added cleaning for AkelPad.
- Added Latvian translation.
- Minor bug fixes.

If you would like to get CCleaner, you can grab it straight from Piriform here. If you’re already using CCleaner, you should see an update prompt when you launch the application( assuming of course that the option to automatically check for updates hasn’t been unchecked).

Moving on, the second news is that Piriform unveiled a new product called CCleaner Network Professional. As the developer explained, this new product is mean to businesses and enterprises by blending together the functionality CCleaner has to offer with the functionality Defraggler has to offer. Specifically designed for installation on corporate networks, it has a comprehensive admin interface and it is a powerful application to optimize an entire network.

Here are CCleaner Network Professional’s main features, as detailed by Piriform:
- Optimize entire network from single computer
- Manage single or multiple computers at once
- Active Directory support
- Highly secure client and encrypted communications
- Support for small and large networks.
