Out There was supposed to be released to the public in the fall of 2013. But it wasn’t! The game was just recently released by Mi-Clos Studio. Out There, one of the most anticipated mobile games of 2014, is now available for iPhone and Android.

You can purchase it from Apple’s App Store, from Google’s Play Store, from Amazon’s App Store, or from the official Out There website. The game alone will set you back $3.99 (get it from the official website and you can add an optional tip to support the app). The game and the soundtrack by award-winning composer Siddhartha Barnhoorn will set you back $5.99.

The story behind the game goes something like this. You wake up from cryo-sleep to find out that you’re no longer in the solar system. You are now in some unknown part of the galaxy, very far away from home. You must do all you can to survive and get back.

This means finding garden planets to refill the oxygen supply, fixing and upgrading your ship, dealing with aliens, and more. You have to manage your resources carefully, you have to explore an unknown world, you have to do all you can to survive, and you have to do it all while dealing with “ancient powers linked to your destiny and the fate of mankind itself.”

It is an exciting and potentially addictive gameplay, and that is quite nice. What is even nicer is the fact that the game features beautiful, stunning artwork. Here are a few screenshots to better put things in perspective.
