Opera's Fun Photo Distraction

If you’re looking for a bit of fun on a hot day like today, then check out Opera’s interesting proposal. The Norwegian software developer would like you to come up with a random name for a fictitious band, come up with a random name for the band’s first album, and then come up with an image for the album cover. Here’s how the whole thing goes:

Band’s name
To pick the band’s name you need to access a random article on Wikipedia. You can do that by clicking here. The name of the article will be your band’s name. I got “List of ancient Persans”

First album name
To pick the name of the first album you need to go to Random Quotations here. The last quote on the page will be the name of the first album; but not the entire quote, just the last four to five words. I got a quote from Bill Vaughan that went like this: “An optimist stays up to see the New Year in. A pessimist waits to make sure the old one leaves.” So I picked the last four words: “the old one leaves”.

Album cover
For the album cover you need to check out the photos posted on Flickr for the past seven days; you can do that by clicking here. Your album cover will be the third picture. I got a picture called Road Less Traveled.

Now that you have your band’s name, your band’s first album name and a pic for the album cover, it’s time to put all these elements together. You can do that by using photo editing software like Photoshop, or Gimp, or anything else. Once you’re done, you can show off your album cover by uploading it to My Opera and posting a comment here.

Here’s the album cover I got.
