As you may already know, the Opera web browser is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. Focusing on the last one, on Google’s Android mobile operating system, did you know that more than 100 million people around the world use Opera mobile on their Android mobiles? Opera is most popular with Android users in India, China, Indonesia, Russia, and Mexico.

“We are working hard to make fast, secure and easy-to-use web browsers, and I am very happy that we now have over 100 million smartphone customers around the world,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO at Opera Software. “We want to create a connected world, where people have access to information, and the mobile web is absolutely crucial to this goal,” Boilesen continued.

Here’s another thing I’m sure you already know: you can enhance your Opera experience with extensions. These are small program that extend the browser’s functionality and enhance the browsing experience. But do you know that Opera for Windows, Mac and Linux now offers over 1000 extensions?

If this does not seem to impressive, I will remind you that Opera Software switched to the Chromium engine last year. Following this switch, Opera had to rebuild its extensions ecosystem from scratch. Thanks to a handy conversion tool, thanks to detailed tutorials, and thanks to extensive developer outreach, Opera Software can now proudly say that Windows, Mac and Linux users can access a collection of more than 1000 extensions.

In related news, you may want to know that Opera Software updated its web browser to version 24. The main new feature that Opera 24 has to offer is tab previews. When you place the mouse cursor on a tab, the browser displays a preview with the contents of the tab.

Opera 24 for Windows is available for download right here on FindMySoft.
