Opera Mini for Maxis Malaysian Customers

Opera Sofware, the Norwegian software developer behind the Opera browser announced that it partnered with Maxis Berhad, the leading integrated communications service provider in Malaysia, and that as part of this partnership Maxis customers will get to enjoy the functionality of the Opera Mini browser.

There are, according to the latest statistics, some 13.9 million Malaysian Maxis customers out there. From the 37th of May they will be able to surf the web with Opera’s innovative Opera Mini browser which made a name for itself by offering faster, more affordable Internet access on mobile devices. Maxis customers will also get access to Maxis’ content and services ecosystem on its WAP portal.

Opera Mini works on more than 3000 handsets. Maxis customers can get the browser by going to m.opera.com starting with the 27th of May. They will not be charged for getting the browser; the browser will be downloaded over-the-air. They can also get it by sending an SMS to 26000; the SMS must say “Opera”. After they send the SMS they will be send a direct download link.
