For the user who likes to surf the web from his desktop computer, Norwegian software developer Opera Software has recently rolled out the final, stable version of Opera 10.60. This version comes with speed improvements, better security, improved looks, and a few other bits and pieces. Check out what Opera 10.60 has to offer here.

For the user who likes to surf the web from his mobile phone, Opera Software has announced the release of Opera Mini version 5.1. According to Opera Software this version “is highly recommended for users of Nokia S40 feature phones with limited memory” – this includes the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic, Nokia 6300 and Nokia 2700 handsets.

Opera Software went on to explain that opera Mini 5.1 is also recommended for phones with a smaller screen – like the Sony Ericsson K550i and Sony Ericsson W810i phones.

Switching focus away from the phones and onto the browser itself, here is the new bit you can expect to get from version 5.1 of Opera Mini: a new optimized browser skin. As Opera Software explained, this skin allows for more pages to be open at the same time, allows for faster scrolling through open pages, and a better browsing experience.

“The goal with Opera Mini is to make the Web available to anyone, anywhere, regardless of where they come from or the handset they have,” says Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “More than 61 million people on over 3000 devices have chosen to surf the Web with Opera Mini for fast and easy Internet access at a considerably lower cost.”

If you would like to get Opera Mini and use it on your mobile phone, launch your phone’s default browser and go to m.opera.com. When you get to the page Opera will select the optimized version for your phone automatically.
