If your aunt passed away and left you millions, or if you won the lotto, then you can safely say that you have more money than you could ever spend and as such you don’t need no online service telling you how to cut costs. If you do not fall in the categories presented above, you will have to work hard for your money, and any service that lets you save a few bucks is more than welcomed – especially now that we are in the middle of an economic crisis. We have three such services to present: Still Tasty, Bill Shrink, and iStopOver.

The StillTasty web page comes in handy when you have food to eat, but it has been in your fridge for such a long period of time that you do not know whether it is safe to eat or not. The site’s logo is “Save Money, Eat Better, Help the Environment” – three things I could not agree with more. StillTasty provides visitors with useful advice on when a particular food item will become uneatable and how to store food so that it lasts longer. A word of warning though: you should also rely on our own senses and expertise when dealing with food.

BillShrink is a web service that helps you with several cost cutting areas in your day-to-day life: credit cards, cell phone plans, and gas prices. While helping you find the most effective solution when it comes to credit cards and cellphone plans may not be news for those of you that are familiar with BillShrink, the “Gas Prices” option is a relatively new addition to the web page. All you have to do is feed BillShrink with details about your daily commute (where you live and where you work), your vehicle (make and model) and the web service will track down the gas stations in your area that provide the best fuel prices.

iStopOver is a handy web service for the people that want to travel a lot but do not have the money, or are not willing to pay the bill attached to spending a night at a hotel. The service, which works like a hotel search engine, puts the traveler in touch with locals that rent out rooms. All you have to do is enter the name of the city you plan to visit and iStopOver provides you with the following info: available rooms, prices, see the location on Google Maps, see pictures of the location, ratings from other visitors.
