Fans of the popular Winamp media player who have an Android-powered device and are familiar with Beta testing applications should take a closer look at this: the Nullsoft team announced on Monday, March 12, that it is looking for Beta testers to put Winamp for Android to the test and provide feedback on cutting edge features.

Getting to test cutting edge features should be more than enough for any passionate Beta tester. But just in case it isn’t, Nullsoft has an ace up its sleeve. For their efforts, the Android Beta testers may get some limited edition Winamp swag, Nullsoft explained.

The Nullsoft team’s call for volunteers comes after expanding Winamp Labs for Android users. Winamp Labs is a service that offers access to Nullsoft’s latest beta features and experiments; the Labs’ goal is to present new features to users, get their feedback, and use that feedback to make the final product better.

The expansion of Winamp Labs for Android user comes after the launch of Winamp Labs for Mac. The expansion means that Nullsoft is actively looking for Android Beta testers that correspond to the following profile:
  • Familiar with the Winamp app as well as the desktop Winamp Media Player (Mac or PC)
  • Familiar with syncing between Winamp for Android & the Winamp desktop player (Mac or PC)
  • Running Android OS 2.1 or above
  • Multiple devices (e.g. handset and tablet) is a plus, but not required.

If you are interested in becoming and Android beta tester and putting cutting edge Winamp features to the test, send an email to feedback-android-beta@winamp.com. In the email you should provide the following info: name, email address associated with your Google ID, if you purchased the Pro Bundle for Android, what device type you have (tablet or handset), the model, manufacturer, and OS version for your device. Nullsoft will send you a follow-up email if you are selected.
