Thanks to its powerful A6X chip, the 4th generation iPad that Apple just unveiled is twice as fast as the previous model that was powered by an A5X chip. It also browses the web twice as fast compared to previous models.

Come next week, you will be able to get your hands on the new, 4th generation iPad tablet from Apple. The Cupertino-based company introduced the new device on Tuesday, October 23, and announced that the 4th gen iPad will go on sale on Friday, November 2. You will be able to purchase the new device from the Apple Online Store, from Apple’s retail stores, and from Select Apple authorized resellers. The suggested retail prices are as follows:
  • 16GB model - $499
  • 32GB model - $599
  • 64GB model - $699
What will you get for this amount of money? Let’s take a look at the new iPad’s main features.

4th Generation iPad Main New Features
  • Powerful New A6X Chip, twice as fast than the A5X chip.
  • Ultrafast wireless connection, twice as fast as any previous-generation iPad
  • Beautiful 9.7 inch Retina Display, 3.1 million pixels

The main new feature the 4th generation iPAd has to offer is a brand new chip – an A6X chip designed by Apple that, compared to the A5X chip that powered the previous model, delivers up to twice the CPU performance and up to twice the graphics performance. According to Apple, this new chip will not drain the device’s battery. You can expect to get 10 hours of battery life from the new iPad (depending of course on device settings, usage and other factors).

The new iPad comes with a 9.7 inch Retina Display that makes everything look crisp and lifelike. At 3.1 million pixels, Apple called it the best mobile display ever. Use this display to browse the web at ultrafast speeds ( compared to previous-generation models, the browsing speed is up to twice as fast) and to access more than 700,000 apps in the App Store and more than 275,000 apps specifically designed for the tablet.

As a little side note, Apple also introduced the new iPad Mini. Find out more about it here.
