Netflix iPhone App Finally Released
Great news for all of you out there who are fans of the online DVD and Blu-ray Disc rental service Netflix and have an iPhone: after many months of teasing, Netflix has finally rolled out a Netflix app for the Apple-developed device. As you may remember, Netflix said it may release an iPhone app back in April. Then in June, the company confirmed the fact that it would release an iPhone app. Netflix finally released the iPhone app about a week back, on the 26 of August.
If you would like to get the Netflix app, you can do so now. You can get the application straight from Apple’s App Store – just click this link. The app is provided free of charge to everyone who has a Netflix subscription. If you do not have a subscription, you can get one. It will set you back just $8.99. For your hard earned money you will get to watch as many movies as you want.
Getting back to the app itself, here is what co-founder and CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings, had to say when the Netflix app was launched: “Apple has changed the game for mobile devices. We're excited that our members can now carry Netflix around in their pockets and instantly watch movies and TV shows streamed from Netflix right to their iPhone or iPod touch.”
Here is what you can expect to get from the Netflix iPhone app:
- Access to a broad array of movie and TV shows.
- A clean, intuitive interface.
- The app works over WiFi and 3G networks
- TV episodes and movies are organized according to categories based on members' personal preferences, popular genres, new arrivals and members' individual instant Queues
- Watch a movie/show instantly, or save the title for later viewing
- Stop, fast forward, or rewind the video stream if you want.
Again, you can get the Netflix app straight from the App Store here.
