The New Nokia 230 is an internet-enabled feature phone that has a premium quality feel, features a 2MP camera on the front and another 2MP camera on the back, supports microSD cards up to 32GB, and is moderately priced at about $50.

If you don’t want an expensive flagship and you’re looking for a cheap, internet-enabled phone, you could and you should get the new Nokia 230. Oh, did I mention that it has a battery that lasts for about a month? Most flagships won’t last a day.

This device’s battery life is outstanding.

While a smartphone struggles to last a full day, this phone keeps going for weeks. Expect the single SIM model to last 27 days in standby, offer 23 hours of talk time, and keep playing music for 52 hours. Expect the dual SIM model to last 22 days in standby, offer 2 hours of talk time, and keep playing music for 52 hours.

Speaking about music, it must be mentioned that the Nokia 230 can play AAC, MIDI, and MP3 files. It must also be mentioned that you can listen to stereo FM radio on the Nokia 230, if you plug in a compatible headset.

Thanks to the 2MP front-facing camera, the Nokia 230 is perfectly suited for taking selfies.

I want to point out that a 2MP front camera is pretty good. Let’s take the much more expensive iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy View for example. The iPad Pro (pricing starts at $799) has a 1.2MP front-facing camera. The Samsung Galaxy View ($599.99 MSRP) has a 2.1MP front camera.

The bottom line is that a 2MP front camera on a $55 feature phone is quite good. And since the Nokia 230 is internet-enabled, once you take a selfie, you can easily share it with others on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and GroupMe by Skype.

Speaking about sharing selfies, do you know which generation shares the most selfies? This infographic has the answer.

The Nokia 230 comes bundled with Opera’s Mini web browser.

One of the best things about Opera Mini is that it uses data compression technology to shrink down webpages and compress videos. By using Opera Mini to surf the web, you’ll be using less of your data plan.

From the Opera Store you can get apps and games for your Nokia 230. If you can’t pick up a game, then take advantage of this offer: one free Gameloft game every month for a year.

The Nokia 230 goes on sale this December in India, Asia, and the Middle East. It will be released to more markets in 2016.
