NVIDIA, Three Others, Join The Linux Foundation

A total of four companies have joined The Linux Foundation: Fluendo, Lineo Solutions, Mocana and NVIDIA. The fact that these four companies joined The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux, is further proof that there are benefits for adopting the operating system and using it for a variety of applications. The adoption of Linux is a key advantage in the future of computing and companies see that.

Amanda McPherson, vice president of marketing and developer services at The Linux Foundation, had this to comment on Fluendo, Lineo Solutions, Mocana and NVIDIA joining the Foundation:

“The ongoing support from companies and organizations across industries and geographies demonstrates not only Linux’s ubiquity but also its ability to quickly adapt for a variety of technical and market opportunities. Fluendo, Lineo Solutions, Mocana and NVIDIA each represent important areas of the Linux ecosystem and their contributions will immediately help advance the operating system.”

Now let’s take a quick look at the four companies that joined the Linux Foundation
  • Fluendo – leading multimedia software development company that specializes in software development and consulting services to enable multimedia on a variety of devices and operating systems.
  • Lineo Solutions – Japan-based company with more than 19 years of experience in Linux and embedded systems development.
  • Mocana – device-agnostic security platform that protects mobile devices, apps and the information and services that run across them.
  • NVIDIA – American global technology company best known for its graphics processors.

Scott Pritchett, VP of Linux Platform Software at NVIDIA, had this to comment:
