My Top 3 Reasons to Use Ad Muncher

Let me start off by saying that I can no longer live without the Ad Muncher application. I reviewed this handy Murray Hurps Corp-develop app earlier this month and gave it the “Essential” award because, as far as I see it, every user who is annoyed by ads should take advantage of the functionality Ad Muncher has to offer. I know I am; I installed the app on every one of my PCs.

After having used Ad Muncher for a while, I wanted to let you in on my top 3 reasons to use Ad Muncher:
Works with any browser and numerous apps
My browser of choice is Mozilla’s Firefox and I have to say that Ad Muncher works brilliantly with Firefox. But the truth of the matter is that Ad Muncher works with any other browser you can think of, including Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer. Not only that it works with other applications that display ads; I love it when at the bottom of Yahoo! Messenger instead of seeing an ad, I see the text “blocked by Ad Muncher”.

Saves bandwidth, helps the browser load pages faster
Because the browser doesn’t have to load ads, it can more rapidly load pages. Also because it doesn’t have to load ads, the browser uses less bandwidth. Bandwidht saving may not be that significant on a personal computer (in my case As Muncher saved 10MB on my home PC from May 9th until today, may 27th), but in a corporate environment Ad Muncher can significantly reduce bandwith usage.

It just works
Ad Muncher works right out of the box. After you install it on your Windows-powered computer, it starts blocking annoying ads without you having to mess with the settings. There are plenty of settings to play with, but you won’t have to play with them unless you really want to. Without changing any of the default settings, Ad Muncher works like a charm.

Another reason why I like Ad Muncher is that it makes me laugh. When it munches ads, the cow icon in the system tray looks like its munching on something. That cracks me up every time.
