Movn, an intelligent activity tracker that is available for iOS and Android, encourages you to stay active, pushes you to get off your chair and move.

Hitting the gym is a great idea if you want to stay in shape. But what if you don’t have the time to go to the gym? Well, there are lots of other small things that you can do to be more active – and Movn pushes you to make small changes in your lifestyle and thus be more active.

I saw a documentary some time ago that focused on staying in shape, gaining/losing weight, and working out to stay healthy. As expected, all the experts in the documentary talked about eating right and exercising. There was one expert though who said something very interesting: if you don’t have time to exercise, if you don’t have time to go to the gym or go for a jog, there are lots of small things you can do to stay active. You can take the stairs instead of taking the elevator for example.

The Movn app reminds me of that expert. This is an app that encourages you to make small changes in your lifestyle and nudges you to be more active. It will suggest you park a little further away so you can walk more, it will advise you to go for a stroll an hour before sunset, it will ask if you want to take a break if it notices you’ve been sitting for a while, and more.

Movn – Main Features
  • Activity Tracking – keep Movn in your pocket and it will track your activities throughout the day.
  • Nudges – throughout the day, Movn provides suggestions to help you be more active. It gently nudges you to get up and move if you’ve been sitting for too long for example.
  • Goals – you can set personalized physical activity goals.
  • Motivation – Movn will help you achieve the goals you set. It will motivate you when you fall behind and it will congratulate you when you’re doing well.
  • Share – share your achievements with others by creating a friend circle. Congratulate the friends in your circle to motivate them.
