Back in the day, we had "dumb" devices that couldn’t do more than one thing. Phones were only for making calls, fridges were only for keeping your food cold, and cars were only for getting from point A to point B.

Today’s smart devices can do more than one thing, and I for one think that’s great. I like that devices have become smart, that I can play games on my phone, that I can surf the web on my fridge, and that I can remotely control my car.

As much as I like the functionality side of things, I have to think about the security implications. You see, the more smart devices you have in your home, the higher the risk of getting hacked. As the Internet of Things expands and more devices become smart, the more we have to think about keeping them safe from hackers.
