Good news for all of you who are constantly on the go and rely on a mobile phone to browse the web. The first good news comes from Software Engineer with Gmail, Nathan Bullock, who announced that Priority Inbox now works on mobile phones. Bullock announced that the Gmail mobile web app now provides support for Priority Inbox, the service released by Google back in August 2010 to prevent email overload.

“If you’ve ever cursed a phone’s tiny screen as utterly inadequate for sifting through an overflowing inbox you’ll be pleased to hear that the Gmail mobile web app now supports Priority Inbox,” announced Bullock. “Now, once you set up Priority Inbox in the desktop version of Gmail, you’ll see Priority Inbox sections when you visit gmail.com from your phone’s browser and click on the ‘Menu’ screen. You’ll also see importance markers in your inbox, so you can quickly identify which messages are important.”

If you’re not familiar with Priority Inbox, it woks by splitting your inbox in three sections:
Important and unread – this is the important email that you need to take a look at.
Starred – not so important stuff that you will like to read at a later time.
Everything else – the rest of your emails, pretty much everything that is not important.

This sort of functionality is definitely useful on the desktop; it is even more useful when you have to read your emails on your mobile phone. I mean you do want to easily and rapidly access the most important emails while you are on the go, don’t you?

The second good news comes from Software Engineer with Picasa, Tammy McLeod, who announced that the limitation on the number of images you can view on Picasa Web for mobile has been dropped. You can now view as many photos as you want from your mobile phone.

“Until now, there was a limit to how many photos you could view, but that limit has lifted and you can view all your photos right from your phone,” said Tammy McLeod. “Browse multiple pages of albums and photos by clicking Next and Prev. Just visit https://picasaweb.google.com from the browser on your smartphone and enjoy photos anywhere.”
