Avira, company that specializes in providing antivirus, firewall, antispam, and data recovery solutions against malware infection for Windows and Linux users, has announced the release of the latest version of its security software application that provides malware protection for mobile phones, smartphones and PDAs – AntiVir Mobile. The latest version of Antivir Mobile comes with enhanced scanning technology, blacklist/whitelist functionality and Windows Mobile 6.5 support.

“Avira AntiVir Mobile provides effective protection for data on smartphones, PDAs and pocket PCs against manipulation, destruction and theft. - Antivir Mobile can scan the ROM and can automatically scan memory cards when they are inserted into the mobile device.
- Integrated SMS protection that checks incoming messages for hidden threats.
- You can set blacklists and never be annoyed by certain messages.
- You can set whitelists as well.
- Antivir Mobile updates are delivered in small data packets. You can get these updates when syncing via WLAN or via GPRS.
- Supports Windows Mobile 5 through 6.5
