In honor of Valentine’s Day, Redmond-based software giant Microsoft is giving you the chance to win a Windows Phone. The company is also giving you the chance to win a pink Sony VAIO Y, but more on that later. Focusing on the Windows Phone for now, here is what you have to do win it (or at least have a chance of winning it): follow @windowsphone on Twitter and send the Windows Phone team one of two messages.

According to the official rules, you cold go with one of two options for your message:
  • Option 1. A reason why you want to break up with your Android device to get a Windows Phone instead and the hashtag #DumpingMyDroid.
  • Option 2. A reason why you love Windows Phone and the hashtag #ILoveWindowsPhone.

Two lucky winners will be selected from all valid entries. They will receive one Windows Phone, one annual Zune Pass, and one annual Xbox LIVE Gold membership. The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on February 14, 2012. Legal US residents who are not Microsoft employees, not involved in running the contest, and are not immediate family or household member of a Microsoft employee can take part in the competition.

I mentioned above that Microsoft is also giving you the chance to win a pink Sony VAIO Y. To be more precise, the company is running a Valentine’s Day Sweepstakes and it is asking you to follow @windowsblog on Twitter and share a love story or a funny moment that involved using technology with someone you love. You must share your story on the Windows Experience Blog here; you have until 11:59 p.m. PT on February 14. For additional info check out the official rules here.

So if you have a story about how much you don’t like Android or how much you love Windows Phone, share it for the chance to win a Windows Phone.
And if you have a story about using technology with someone you love, share it for the chance to win a Sony VAIO Y.
