Microsoft recently announced that it struck a deal with the largest game developer on Facebook, King Digital Entertainment (previously known as King.com). As part of this partnership with King, Microsoft will force King’s Candy Crush Saga on its customers.

Customers who’ll get the upcoming Windows 10 operating system will find that it once again features classic games like Solitaire, Hearts, and Minesweeper. They’ll also find out that Windows 10 features King’s Candy Crush Saga game.

“We’re excited to be able to announce today that King will bring their game, Candy Crush Saga, to Windows 10,” announced Brandon LeBlanc, Senior Marketing Communications Manager on the Marketing Group at Microsoft.

Candy Crush Saga will be automatically installed for customers that upgrade to or download Windows 10 during the launch! Over time, other popular and awesome King game titles will be available for Windows 10,” LeBlanc continued.

Candy Crush Saga is such a popular game that it don’t think I need to present it. I will remind you though that it landed on Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store just a few months ago – back in December 2014, just in time for the winter holidays.

King took its sweet time in making the game available for Windows Phone. Here’s what I mean. Candy Crush Saga became available for Facebook in April 2012, for iOS in November 2012, and for Android in December 2012. Two years later, in December 2014, it finally became available for Windows Phone as well.

Unfortunately though, that seems to be the norm for Windows Phone. Apps that are released for iOS and Android take forever to land on Microsoft’s app store.

Here’s a more recent example: Ndemic’s Plague Inc game. The iOS version was released in May 2012. The Android version was released a few months later, in October 2012. When was the Windows Phone version released? Earlier this month! That’s right, Windows Phone users had to wait until May 2015 to play Plague Inc.
