According to Redmond-based software giant Microsoft, the perfect companion for your netbook (or small notebook PC) is a BlueTrack Technology-powered mouse that has been designed with “on-the-go” consumers in mind and as such can function properly no matter where you take it. And out of Microsoft’s mice offering, the company says that the new Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 is “the best netbook companion.”

Group Product Marketing Manager with Microsoft, Sean Butterworth, comments: “Between netbooks, notebooks and smartphones, consumers are more mobile than ever with their computing. Our user research team extensively monitored the different locations and surfaces where people are using their computers, and BlueTrack Technology excels where consumers need it.”

According to Microsoft, because we haven’t had the change to put the performances of the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 series to the test, the technology can track on smooth and shiny surfaces like marble and uneven surfaces like carpet. And if you worry that carrying a mouse with you all day long and getting dust and dirt on it will have a negative impact, don’t be as it is guaranteed to work wherever you need it to.

Regarding pricing and availability, Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 will be available at an estimated price of $40 this August, but you can pre-purchase it from Amazon starting June 24th and have it delivered to you when it is released. The mouse comes with a 3-year hardware warranty from Microsoft.

“Priced at less than $40 (estimated retail price), the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 offers BlueTrack Technology at a value price so more people can experience its benefits. For added portability, the mouse connects to the PC via a tiny nano transceiver that sticks out less than a centimeter from the USB port and can easily remain plugged into the computer when traveling, or be easily stored inside the mouse. The sporty mouse is also available in this year’s hottest colors with eye-catching hues of teal blue, berry pink and lime green as well as graphite and white; it’s the perfect way to add personal style to life on the go,” says Microsoft.
